Recent Obsessions

Every four years for two weeks, I go crazy. Yes, I am a total Olympics junkie. When the games are on, I literally don't go out at night so I can watch every single event. I've stayed up well past midnight several times to watch all those gymnastics finals. All three televisions in my house have their individual DVR set to record anything with Olympics in the title - just in case my sister decides it's okay to cancel the swimming final because there's a new episode of Hannah Montana on.

I am obsessed with Usain Bolt. He's a sprinter from Jamaica and is possibly the funniest athlete to watch. He really hams it up for the cameras - makes funny faces, spontaneously dances, and does his own little trademark point-at-the-sky pose. Bolt is so lovable and hilarious - I can't wait for the 400m race to see him again.

I'm also obsessed with the reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians. I love how the three sisters Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe are always fighting and bickering, yet are always there for each other. The best is when they torment their little brother Rob by following (read, stalking) him on a date with a Playmate and waxing his chest. Their antics and fights reminds me a lot of how me, my sister, and my mother interact (minus the drinking, swearing, and spontaneous trips to Vegas).

The last of my recent obsessions is Madewell 1937, which is the smaller, more affordable sister store to J.Crew. There aren't that many locations but I'm lucky and there's one very close to me at the Short Hills Mall in Short Hills, New Jersey. I go to this store everytime I'm home and cannot walk out empty handed. They have AMAZING denim (think the simplicity and perfect fit of J Brand combined with the denim quality of Paige) that comes in a ton of colors. I've already bought a pair of dark gray corduroy skinnies that I'm so excited for. They have a lot of very trendy-casual clothes that are perfect for college girls without being too over-the-top or too expensive. Best part is they give you 10% off with a college ID.

I'm off to watch the women's beach volleyball gold medal match between USA and China! Go May/Walsh!!
